6 yr old Oldenberg (foaled May 8, 2002), about 16.1
Jacob just competed in the Varsity Equestrian National Championship in April. He was shown around a difficult 3' course by unfamiliar riders in a coliseum setting. The course had two combinations and some difficult distances. He went great, giving riders from two of the competing universities a great trip.
This fabulous horse was only started under saddle late in 2006. He was started in real work in March of 2007. He is a stunning mover with a lovely jumping style. His disposition is beyond reproach. The lead changes are smooth and effortless. He is doing lateral work and counter canter now. He went to three shows the summer of 07. August 12-14 was the first show he cantered whole courses. The two shows before he was trotting into the lines and cantering out. His steering was still a little suspect at that point. His second class indoors was a very large 2'9"-3' open class and he was second. He showed at a one day outdoor show in November and he went right around nicely in two different rings. We didn't even lounge him before climbing on and schooling. He tolerated the crowded rings with no problem. He is now schooling 3'6" and it's just simply no problem.
